Iron Clad

Well, as the topics are fresh in my mind, here is the account of the evening:

We shared food and drink, discussed present life blessings and crises, requested prayer for various reasons, and shared our views on God, His works, and temptations we are facing.

I would not call it a night of sin, although the meeting took place in a bar. And Jacob's Field had a fireworks show after the game - a bonus - this shot shows the way you can see it through the window of Flannery's!

  • It was a good time, Mike. We were talking to one another about God, and we were doing it amidst Indians celebrations and other boisterous bar-goers. I even ran into a few friends of mine.

My only wish is to go back and be a little bit more descriptive of our group and what we were doing. Not really thinking about the faith-sharing aspect of our night out I said: "This is Curt and this is Mike. This is our grou--we go to the same church--we're having some drinks and talking God stuff."

That was really what I said. That sucks.

  • Are you referring to the fact that it was just the three of us? Or are you saying that the fact that we did not evangelize sucked?

  • Uh, neither. I was referring to what I said.

  • o - I completely misread your statement - ah, the great skills I have as an English teacher...lol. Sorry J. I really am not good at blog reading; is there a technical term for that? Or should we invent one?

  • I thought that the evening was awesome. I really felt that we were in the world but not of it. There will always be things you regret in life. But whose to say that what you said was not enough to make that guy think - "hmm, Jason got into some churh thing..." I wish that I was bold enough to invite this guy I've been talking to over the past few years; but I thought - "I'll wait until the meeting is back at the normal location..."

This brings up an interesting topic...

  • Hmm..."normal location" is interesting, huh? What do you mean? Oh, and I should still have a meeting at my house.

  • I was thinking of the excuses we give ourselves for procrastination in delivering the gospel. It simply is not something we should delay on... you just never know when it will be too late.
